Maybe the Saints are just a bad team

The big question that everyone will be asking now is "What happened to the Saints?"  I got this question from a friend of mine during the game tonight.  I can't say that I'm surprised over the Saints and their struggles.  We see this happen every year, where a team goes from good to bad, and we wonder what happened.  This is different.  After Hurricane Katrina and the great feel good story that was the 2006 Saints, we all ended up pulling for New Orleans.  I'm a Steelers fan, and I think I would have rather had the Saints win the Super Bowl last

What went wrong Sunday?

DISCLAIMER:  I typed this up once, went to submit it, and the post disappeared.  This is the second time this has happened to me, both times being long posts.  If I come across as extremely pissed off, it's for this reason.  Normally I type this out in a Text Editor, or copy it before I hit send, but then it always works.  It's like the blog knows when I don't have the article copied, and only then does it erase what I have.  Now on to the blog, what I can remember writing that is.

Sunday NFL Picks 9/23

Before getting to the NFL picks, I'd like to review the NCAA system for those who missed it.  Yesterday was a great day for the NCAA system.  One of the anti-favorite trends went 7-4.  The favorite trend went 4-3, if you count Oklahoma on Friday.  The "mega-favorites" went 3-0.  The other group of anti-favorites went a decent 5-5.  The only bad spot was the big underdogs, which went 1-3.  Overall, the picks from the system this week went 20-15.

I've found a few new trends for the system that I will go over next week.  One trend

Week 3

Detriot +6.5 Philadelphia

Which team is better? The one that lost to the Redskins and the Packers or the one who beat the Vikings and the Raiders? Detroit is a better team and the line should be Detriot -1 not Philly +6.5. Take the four to one odds and the better team against a McNabb led squad. By the way is it just me or does McNabb think that since the turf is green that means it is an eligible Philly receiver. Check that guy’s WONDERLICK score.

Minnesota +2.5 Kansas City

OU Gets Screwed

So it look slike if LSU, USC and OU all win out, OU gets screwed.  All that is based on pre-season rankings.  There has to be a better way, some way.  While the Trojans and Tigers are both amazing teams this year, a valid argument can be made that the Sooners deserve a shot at the BCS championship game.  It sure looks like OU will destroy Texas in Dallas this October so what else could they possibly do to crack into the top 2?

NCAA System Week 4

Last week was the first trial week of my NCAA system.  The picks that I posted did fairly well, with both sections getting above 50%.  After some analyzation, I have found some early trends that did very well last week.  The system is basically a method of grading favorites and underdogs.  There were four early trends that I found.  The first trend was betting on the big underdogs, the teams who were ranked much higher than their opponents, but were underdogs.  There were only three games that matched this category, but they went 3-0.  This week there are only

L.A. Doesn't Need Another AK-47

As one of the the few people living in L.A. that was actually born here, I feel compelled as a native Los Angelino to throw in my 2 cents about the possibility of bringing Drago's younger brother, Andre, to the Lakers.

Don't do it.  L.A. doesn't need another AK.

Yes Andre would help on the defensive end and could take pressure off of Kobe by defending the opponents best offensive player.  Yes he is a 1 time all-star and at time shows  lot of promise, but the bottom line is I feel he's a bad fit for the Lakers.

Dallas to Tank: Guns are OK Here!

Tank Johnson is officially a Dallas Cowboy and he’s lucky to land in a State that loves them some guns! Yee haa.  After tripping up with the law and with the league over gun issues, Tank Johnson will be able to relax in Texas, possibly even discussing the merits of a Glock 24 with fellow team mates and the local citizenry.

The right to bear arms aside; this is a great deal for both parties.  Tank will arrive, following his NFL mandated suspension, right around the time the play off race is heating up.  Long before then, Dallas should have both Terrence Newman and

My Letter To Notre Dame

Dear Notre Dame,

I'm a season ticket holder.  I have supported the Irish since birth.  I haven't had the chance to witness a Notre Dame national championship, and I have always expected to.  Whenever I mention Notre Dame, my heart lights up.  I take great pride in being an Irish fan and being a season ticket holder.  But today, I have nothing good to say about you.

At 3:30 today, I turned on my TV expecting to watch a good game between two programs with a string of bad luck and breaks.  I didn't expect this.  Currently, Michigan is
