Gabriel Gold is back 2008/09/07 09:10
Attention Goldmembers: Gabriel Gold the Gridiron Guru is back for another successful season. I am currently finishing my research for the season projections and should have them up before the early games kick off on Sunday, but for now I will at least give you a little taste of what the man with the plan who holds the Golden key in his hand is thinking. First of all, take Kansas City getting 16.5 points in week 1, are you kidding me?????? Tom Brady hasn't played since the Super Bowl, and the Patriots defense hasn't sold me on their ability to stop a good junior high team, so if you're giving me anyone and 16.5 in week 1, I'll take it, even if it is Brodie Croyle and the Chiefs. Indianapolis giving 10 at home to the Bears is an easy cover. Chicago has no running game, no quarterback, and an aging defense. Unless Devin Hester runs back every punt and kickoff for touchdowns, Indy covers 10 points in their sleep. Dallas giving 5.5 at Cleveland should be no problem. Derek Anderson is still ailing a little bit and Cleveland's defense hasn't improved that dramastically, Cowboys by at least a touchdown, more likely double digits. The Steelers will beat Houston by a touchdown or more at home, covering that 6.5 point spread. Schaub was inconsistent at best last year and they still haven't given him any kind of a running game to help out. The Texan defense will be pretty good this year, but the Steelers will still win this game easily. And last but certainly not least, there's the incomparable Brett Favre. Look for him to shine in his Jets debut, and look for the addition of Favre, as well as Tony Richardson and Alan Faneca to bolster the running game a little. The Jets are giving 3 points to a team that won one game last year. The Dolphins will be better this year, but still go down in week 1 by more than 3 to Bretty and the Jets. Check back for 16 game record projections for all 32 teams as well as 50 bold predictions for the upcoming season.
