Admin: Injury Update 2008/06/11 16:00
AS you probably know, it appears Sir Albert is going to miss some time. I am guessing any SIMS run for STL over the next 2 to 3 weeks will not include Pujols? I know it's hard to keep up with MLB IR's, but Pujols is pretty significant.. Also, I know in the NBA, you always stated on the DLR what players were not active.. can we do the same for MLB if you know those players? Just talking about regulars, not platoon or bench players.

Couple of more items:
Is there any reason the SIMS would be run again after 11am CST? I noticed on a couple of occasions I pulled the DLR after 11, but the next day the SV team changed becuase thier Win % changed from my report, but it was the only game that changed? Would there be a way to note the download page to say "update" if a new report is run w/o having to download and eyeball every # and compare Just asking! Thanks!

We're aware of the Pujols injury, and have him out until his return. If you go to the MLB game previews you can see which players we have included in each simulation.

As for when the sims run, it all depends on what type of news is released. As a hypothetical example, say around 11:00 it is announced that Player A will be receiving a break tonight, or that Player B will be the new starting pitcher. In those instances, to provide the most accurate simulations, we will update the lineups, and re-run the simulations on that game.

There is no real set deadline as to when the final simulations are run, since it is always unpredictable when information may be released. A good rule of thumb is to check an hour before the game, as the hour window is not enough time to receive the information, update the lineups, run the simulations, and get everything uploaded to the web site in a timely enough manner to give the updated simulations any value.
