Cold Streak 2008/03/05 23:53
for those that use the simulations as a guide to help them with College BBall, how are you working around this cold streak (or cold season really) for accuscore.

If you bet every game that had any difference between the vegas line and the accuscore line, on a -110 basis, you would be having a disasterous year so far.

You would have been down 34 units in Jan and down 71 units in Feb.

That is 100 units in two months. I do realize that no one bets every game, but you get the drift. It has been a cold cold year so far.

Over/Unders have been doing well, up 23 units from January 1 to now.

It seems that every season the simulations do very well with one bet type, and not as well with the other. This year AccuScore is doing well with the over/unders for college basketball, but not so well with the point spreads. In the NBA, AccuScore is doing well with the point spreads, and not as well with the over/unders. In the NHL AccuScore is doing well with the SV picks, and not as well with the SV/ML picks.

Once you single these trends out and start betting them exclusively, you will begin to make the most of your subscription with AccuScore. I know it's not as popular to bet the over/under in the big college basketball game of the week, but I tend to find that winning money is a pretty popular idea, as opposed to being specific about the bet type you will be taking.

Re:Cold Streak 2008/03/07 03:03
Ditto about the OVER/UNDER in CBB.

Look at teams with DLR combined winning records in side and totals. Instead of betting every total, I only teams with DLR winning records
OVER/UNDER. Also teams with a 6.5 point differential are hitting about 58%. These show up in the live betting as 59-60% or higher, but you have to check the DLR to be sure of the differential. I have been betting 1 unit on totals under 6.5 pts. and 2 units on 6.5 and over. I have been tossing them into some small round robin 2-team parlays as well.

Another strategy that I use is betting percentages and line movements in order to get the best number. If I think the line will move against me, I will place my bet early. If I think I will move in my favor, I will wait till closer to game time for the best number.

Also, if you paying -110 (dime) vig for your bets, you are paying too much! I get college totals for -105 (nickel) vig at 5dimes.com. I get side bets at even money or better at +104 to +102 on average at matchbook.com
