SV dogs vs SV faves 2008/07/08 03:18
Has anyone sliced the data into SV dogs and SV faves?

i'm curious to know how accuscore performed when the SV sided with the dogs and how it performed when the SV sided with the favourites. (doing the same with the ML might be interesting too...)

i took a look at the excel data and i couldn't find a simple way to query it in order to answer my question. The archive tab doesn't even identify which team had the SV. That could be remedied by showing the vegas odds already calculated into percentages at least.

Still my question seems an obvious one, so maybe someone has already figured it out... if yes, please share.

Hi all,

What's the best program for analyzing the DLR excel spreadsheet? Something that makes querying easier???

Thanks

I have SV favs at 795-808 for 3/31/08 through 7/20/08. I don't keep track of dogs but wouldn't this just be the opposite, 808-795?

Needless to say, neither of these is winning at an impressive rate. I've found the whole MLB season to be a huge grind with nothing to show for it.

ML prediction is 934-662, +6 units for the same period.

I left off that the SV prediction was -6 units.

Correction: I keep a master spreadsheet with all sports as well as individual sheets for each sport. The numbers that I previously gave were from the master.

For just MLB 3/31/08-7/20/08
SV: 682-637 +3 units (I think +300 is the way Accuscore represents this)
ML: 745-568 +5 units

(The way I calculate units is if you put 1 unit on every game, whether the odds are + or -, then this would be your net gain or loss.)

when i look at the sv stats of 2008 there is a plus of 40 units so something is not correct.

w l Units
Home Win 65%+ of Simulations 95 57 63% 43
Home Win 55-64.9% of Sim 362 305 54% 2912
Home Win 50-54.9% of Sim 191 192 50% 1836
Home Win 45-49.9% of Sim 129 143 47% -275
Home Win <45% of Sim 105 100 51% -478

these stats are from the DLR Archive
