bigeasy Complaint 2008/06/08 02:08
In all fairness to FFGoat, below is a comment that was posted to his blog that belongs in this forum. The complaint is from bigeasy.

--------------

Accuscore - pays no attention to it's members inquiry's when you ask them to speak via telephone. I have been trying for a week to get a response but they have refused to call me. The excuse is that they have a small staff and I have to wait until sometime next week for somebody who might have time to call me back. I have already spent 4 days, and 3 e-mails to get this lame excuse of why they don't have time or care to resolve my questions.

The inqiury's I have takes discussion back in forth, to e-mail my discovery would take countless e-mails and could best be expressed and resolved via phone call much more efficiantly.

I have evidence that Accuscore does not predict its sports picks like they advertize. They say they play these games 10,000 times before they give the results. That's not completely true. They base the selections merely on the Las Vegas line or what they think the Las Vegas odds are for that sport. They really just make up thier own odds or lines based on what they think the are they don't have a clue.

Have you ever noticed the prediction % changing very close to game time and the prediction % change all day long when they decide to update them. They base the results purely on the betting lines.

How long does it take to play 10,000 games and give results anyway.

Accuscore - the way you predict your team picks is your bussiness, but can you try to tell the truth, or do you really care. I alredy know the answer to that question, you've already proved that to me. Sign me:

Re:bigeasy Complaint 2008/06/08 02:33
Now to address the concerns:

1. We do have a small staff, and aside from providing everything on the web site, we answer a lot of questions that are e-mailed to us, as well as keeping track of the questions on this forum. We also have families, so not everyone will be available 24/7, and during the times we are available we are extremely busy with the duties I listed above.

2. I can't find you as a Pro Member in our database of users, and for that matter, I can't find any member with the title "bigeasy". In my own opinion, a claim such as the one above would hold more ground coming from someone who has access to the simulations, much less is a member of the site.

That being said, you seem to be confused as to how the simulations work.

First of all, we do simulate each game 10,000 times. This gives us a result for each game. As an example, let's say that the result is:

Team A: 55%
Team B: 45%

The next thing we do is compare our simulations to the Vegas line. On the Live Betting % page, there are two numbers: LW% and Sim%. The Sim% is where you will find that Team A is winning 55% of simulations. In the LW% we have broken down the Vegas line, and in this column you may find that the Vegas line for Team A suggests that Team A will win 58% of the time.

As for line changes, there are several ways our line could change:

-Injury updates that have a change on the simulated lineups
-More accurate lineups (Like when it is announced early in the day that a certain player won't be playing)
-A change in starting pitchers for that game

In all of these cases I would imagine that Vegas would adjust their lines, just as we would adjust our simulations. Vegas also adjusts their lines according to betting trends, and this may be where some confusion comes in for you. Another example:

Team A is winning NBA simulations by an average of 4 points.

If the Vegas line is Team A -3, then AccuScore will favor Team A by a certain percentage, because we are saying that team A -4. If the Vegas line moves to Team A -5, then the percentages will change in favor of Team B, since we are saying Team A can only win by at most 4 points. Realize that the AccuScore prediction never changes. What we provide is our prediction, along with the probability that this prediction will come true under the current Vegas line. That probability will change as the Vegas line changes, but this is not a case of the AccuScore line changing.

Since the author of the original complaint made the complaint on someone's blog, I don't trust that the author will manage to find the comment moved to this location. I moved it here to put it in the proper location. "Bigeasy", if you are reading this, I invite you to e-mail me at twilliams@accuscore.com with any further questions you may have on our process.
