Wed's picks. Follow or Fade, this is how I see it:

1. Detroit -1.5 (+150) vs Anaheim: Detroit is golden at home and play a team that has been overseas to start the season in England.

2. Carolina (-147) vs Montreal: I really don't see Montreal doing too much this year, and it could be a long season for them. I think Carolina is a very good team, and Cam Ward came to camp 20lbs lighter and lightning quick. Look for the Canes to have a good bounce-back year, and get a convincing win in their home opener on the 10th Anniversary Night in Raliegh.

3. Colorado (-135) vs Dallas. Colorado has a fantastic mix of young talent and veterin leadership and should do very well this season. Dallas keeps getting older and didn't improve enough in the offseason to impress me. My prediction has been that Tippett is the first coach to get fired this year.
