Calgary is currently tied at the top of the Northwest division with the Vancouver Canucks.  San Jose is dominating the Pacific division, and owns the best record in the NHL at 13-3-1.  On Thursday night the Flames take on the Sharks in a battle between two of the top teams in the Western Conference.  AccuScore has simulated the game 10,000 times, and gives San Jose a 72.2 percent chance of winning, by an average score of 3-2.

Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, and Devin Setoguchi are combining to score a goal in 83 percent of simulations.  Milan Michalek, Joe Pavelski, and Ryan Clowe are combining for a goal in 94 percent of simulations.  The Sharks offense is led by Clowe, who is scoring a goal in half of simulations.  Curtis Glencross, Dustin Boyd, and Jarome Iginla are leading the Flames with a goal in 78 percent of simulations.  Iginla is the only player scoring a goal in over a quarter of simulations, and scoring a point in 89 percent of simulations.  Besides Iginla, only Daymond Langkow is recording a point in over half of simulations, registering a point in 51 percent of simulations.
