victories. How quickly things changed for Fitzpatrick. The time on the bench didn’t last long as Geno suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s game.

He will have something to prove in Week 8 after coming out and bad-mouthing ownership and the coaching staff after his benching. The opponent this week is a favorable one for the Jets and Fitzpatrick. The Browns have surrendered 18 TDs to opposing QBs, which is tied for worst in the league. Playing with a chip on his shoulder, look for Fitzpatrick to take hold of this game on his own. He will target Brandon Marshall early and often, who is due for a big game in this one. Given the nature behind the scenes for the Jets, I am looking for Fitzpatrick to throw for 300 yards and three TDs just to prove a point to those doubters. He will be a great streaming option for bye weeks, and an against the grain play in DFS for Week 8.

Running Back

Jeremy Hill vs. Washington Redskins

Jeremy Hill has been quite the frustrating player to own to this point in 2016. He’s been the ultimate boom or bust play, either going for over 20 points or scoring under 10. Hill may have found his stride in Week 7 with a 168 yard, one touchdown performance against the Browns. Next up for Hill and the Bengals is a juicy matchup against the Redskins soft run defense. A defense that has allowed eight touchdowns to opposing backs so far this season, ranking them near the bottom of the league. This game has all the makings of the Bengals being able to just go up and down the field against the defense at will. The only issue is the workload for Hill. Will he get a heavy dose of carries or will he barely crack 10 touches in favor of Giovani Bernard? I see this one being a Jeremy Hill type game, as the Bengals take an early lead and grind out the clock in the second half. He should easily top 100 yards in this game, to go along with a TD. A solid RB2 for the week, and a player you may see with low ownership in DFS.

Wide Receiver

Chester Rogers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Many people were tabbing Week 7 as a breakout game for Chester Rogers, but after a three target effort, that was just not the case. Andrew Luck primarily targeted T.Y. Hilton and his tight ends during the game. Coming into Week 8, this may be the game you are looking for from Rogers. He will have to take advantage of his opportunities, because with the impending return of Donte Moncrief, his playing time will start to diminish. With Hilton being covered by Marcus Peters most of the afternoon, there should be plenty of single coverage for Rogers. The Chiefs are currently allowing the most points to opposing receivers, so Rogers could easily cash in. Five catches for 85 yards and a score is very doable in this matchup, making Rogers a sneaky WR3/Flex option in a deep bye week.

Tight End

C.J. Fiedorowicz vs. Detroit Lions

C.J. Fiedorowicz is becoming more and more a part of the game-plan for the Texans passing attack each week. Having no less than four receptions in each game since Week 4, you could say that he is currently on a hot streak. With the Detroit Lions coming to town in Week 8, the opportunity to fill the stat sheet could not get any better. The Lions have given up the most TDs to opposing tight ends this season, which should mean dollar signs if you are thinking about playing Fiedorowicz. With Brock Osweiler having trouble completing passes downfield to his receivers, look for him to utilize Fiedorowicz to move the chains in this one. I can see him hauling in six balls for 90 yards and a score. He is definitely worth a start as a streaming option, and a guy that will be overlooked in DFS.

Kicker

Mike Nugent vs. Washington Redskins

With the Bengals offense currently playing at a high caliber, you know that there will be opportunities for Nugent. He will undoubtedly get you some XPs, but I can see him getting a shot at three FGs in this one as well. That will put him among the top scorers at the position for the week. If available, scoop him up and start him in Week 8.

Defense

Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Coming off a victory against the undefeated Vikings, the Eagles come into Dallas full of confidence. But there probably is not a team playing with more confidence right now than the Cowboys. They are clicking on both sides of the ball, which comes as a surprise because for years this defense has been one of the worst in the NFL. Coming off a bye week, look for Dallas to try and confuse and rattle rookie Carson Wentz. The Cowboys should be in line for a few sacks and could possibly force a couple of turnovers. All signs point to a strong week from the Dallas defense and they will be a very sneaky play in Week 8.
