was a holdover from when Simmons was hit by a pitch in the arm last Sunday. It is somewhat concerning that he is still experiencing some pain this far removed from the initial injury, but he started at DH on Sunday, so the team doesn’t seem to think it is an overly serious issue. With Monday off, Simmons is likely to be back to normal on Tuesday.

Miguel Cabrera, 1B DET – Risky Start

Miguel Cabrera was removed from Sunday’s game after suffering from an apparent bicep injury. He may be missing from the lineup or ineffective for the next several games. Start with extreme caution. He’s a High Injury Risk.

Shohei Ohtani, SP LAA – Risky Start

The upside for playing Ohtani is no secret. But with the combination of blister issues affecting his pitching, as well as a recent ankle injury hindering him on both sides of the ball, Ohtani might need to take a breather. Ohtani is not on the DL, but he did have his start pushed back from Tuesday. He could pitch a few days after that, but we think the injury risk outweighs the upside here. With a Below Average HPF (Health Performance Factor), the safe option is to keep him on your bench for this week.

Miguel Sano, 3B MIN – Risky Start

Sano missed his second straight game on Sunday with a hamstring injury, but the Twins are adamant that the injury is not severe. They went as far to say that Sano was available off the bench if they needed him. As an American League team, the Twins have the option to DH Sano if he is not feeling quite 100%, and with a relatively short 7-day Optimal Recovery Time, it is not inconceivable to see him start this Monday, but it is probably better to wait until the middle of next week, maybe even the weekend series.

Mookie Betts, OF BOS – Sit

Mookie Betts is dealing with a hamstring injury that has him sitting on the bench. While the injury overall isn’t especially serious, he still has almost a full week before he will be 100% again. With a projected May 5th Healthy to Return date, He’s a High Injury Risk. You should sit him if your league has daily moves or can make Friday changes like in the NFBC.

D.J. LeMahieu, 2B COL – Sit

DJ LeMahieu has a hamstring injury of his own, and his is a little more serious than Betts’. LeMahieu came up a little lame after hustling out a double in the third inning of Friday’s game, and he was quickly picked off second base. He did not return for the fourth inning. LeMahieu could very well return to the lineup at some point next week, but his projected Optimal Recovery Time is two weeks, meaning he won’t be 100% until mid-May.
