knee for a previously undiagnosed problem and is expected to miss the remainder of the season. Noah had problems with the same knee back in 2014, but this is supposedly unrelated. Willy Hernangomez is now the guy to own in Fantasy.

Ben Simmons PHI: foot procedure

After a CT scan last week showed that Simmon’s foot fracture still had more healing to do. The 76ers made the right decision to shut him down for the year. He then underwent a minor procedure during which bone marrow was injected into the region of the fracture to accelerate healing and stimulate bone growth. The location of the fracture does not get very good blood supply, which makes it harder and take longer for the bone to heal. Simmons hopes to be ready for summer league and will continue to undergo scans each month to assess his progress.

Kristaps Porzingis NYK: ankle sprain

Porzingis left the stadium last Thursday in a walking boot after spraining his ankle. He landed on someone’s foot, causing a minor sprain. X-rays were negative and there is no ligament damage, so he could return to the court this week. The Optimal Recovery Time is three weeks, so even though he could play before then his mobility will suffer, and he will remain at an elevated injury risk according to the Inside Injuries algorithm.

Injury ScaleKevin Durant GS: left hand contusion

Durant missed one game because of a left hand contusion but is expected to rejoin the Warriors’ lineup tonight. The Inside Injuries algorithm has him at low injury risk and above average Health Performance Factor. Because the injury is to his left hand, it shouldn’t have much of an impact on his shooting or ball handling. He is a “Healthy Start” if he suits up.

Joel Embiid PHI: torn meniscus + other knee problems

After announcing that Embiid would miss the first four games following the All Star break as he continues to recover from a meniscus tear, the 76ers are now saying that their injury-prone rookie is out indefinitely. He is dealing with a lot of swelling and is set for another MRI. With no chance at the playoffs, don’t be surprised if he is shut down for the remainder of the year. Either way, Jahlil Okafor’s value for the rest of the year is much higher.

Patrick Beverley HOU: groin strain

Patrick Beverley has been dealing with a lingering groin problem for much of February, and he experienced tightness again this week. As long as it doesn’t get worse, he plans to play through it. Right now, he is at an elevated injury risk because it wouldn’t take much for him to make his groin strain worse, but he is at peak Health Performance Factor. His performance won’t suffer due to the injury but he is at risk of re-injury.

Kenneth Faried DEN: back spasms

Faried landed awkwardly in the game Friday night and tried to play through it but was unable to finish the game due to back spasms. Faried had back issues back in January, and as we’ve seen before this is an injury that often recurs. He also entered the day with a minor ankle sprain, so he’s pretty banged up right now. The Inside Injuries algorithm has him in the elevated Injury Risk category, and it’s unclear how much more time he could miss. Wilson Chandler should see a bump in minutes and Fantasy value while Faried is sidelined.
