coasting into the playoffs, an injury could ruin your season quickly without a strong bench. In keeper/dynasty formats, now is the time to reach out to teams out of the playoff hunt. A couple of key veteran additions can make a big difference in the standings.
California Love by 2Pac featuring Dr. Dre
What a difference a year makes. Jared Goffwas a punchline last year and all but written off as a potential franchise QB. Now he is leading one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Todd Gurley has been rejuvenated, but the passing attack remains a weekly guessing game. Robert Woods steps up and makes some big plays, Cooper Kupp is looking solid for a rookie and, oh yeah, we also traded for Sammy Watkins. Goff is not yet a QB1, but he is certainly an intriguing streamer and DFS play. While not Fantasy relevant, Tavon Austin even has a legitimate role on offense as a change of pace back.
Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee are solid TE prospects, but having both of them on the same team is less than ideal for Fantasy owners. Much like the receiving corps, it is impossible to predict if either of them will even be involved on a weekly basis. Higbee possesses more pure receiving upside, but Everett is a better bet to become a complete TE. For the rest of 2017, Higbee remains the better bet to have streaming and DFS value.

Let It Flow by Toni Braxton
Kirk Cousinshas not been putting up the QB1 numbers you thought you were getting when you drafted him. The Redskins offense doesn’t seem to be fully in sync. It’s hard to blame Cousins, though. The running game is a mess,Terrelle Pryor has been a major bust, Josh Doctsonhas flashed but lacks consistency and Jordan Reed is…hurt. Cousins has a tough matchup against Minnesota this weekend and playoff matchups against the Cardinals and Broncos.
When you have a player as injury prone as Reed, you need a quality backup. Good thing the Skins have Vernon Davis, who would be a locked in TE1 if he was on about 20 other teams. For as long as Reed is out or limited, Davis is a recommended start in Fantasy. He racked up six receptions for 72 yards last week as a key contributor to the Washington offense.
Don’t Dream It’s Over by Crowded House
Aaron Jones was looking like yet another stud rookie RB in October, when he stepped in for an injured Ty Montgomery and didn’t look back. Montgomery caught up to him last week, though, and might have run right past him. Montgomery was the more productive player in Week 9 as Jones could not get anything going on the ground or on checkdowns from Hundley. A matchup against the Bears makes both RBs flex-worthy. Moving forward, this could be a messy Fantasy situation. Jones is well-suited for a lead back role, while Montgomery’s skill set plays better as a receiving threat and change of pace type.
Run by Ghostface Killah featuring Jadakiss
Christian McCaffreyis getting his share of receiving work, but he just has not been dynamic or flashing much juice after the catch. Add in his putrid yards per carry and it is easy to see why owners were getting down on the talented rookie. With Jonathan Stewart fumbling twice on Sunday, McCaffrey got a season-high 15 carries and tallied his first rushing TD. Things were starting to trend in his direction and the Kelvin Benjamin trade only boosted his potential. The Panthers need to get him in open space as much as possible. The big plays will come. Hybrid player Curtis Samuelalso figures to be more involved in the offense with Benjamin gone. While not a natural receiver, he offers plenty of playmaking upside with the ball in his hands. If Devin Funchess can continue to progress, this has the makings of an exciting breakthrough offense in 2018.
Let Me In by Young Buck
Corey Davismissed five games with a hamstring injury, but returned in Week 9 to play 75-percent of the snaps. That is a great sign for his future value, as he could be the number one option in Tennessee by season’s end. Eric Decker has not panned out as originally expected (understatement) and Rishard Matthews is miscast as a lead receiver. Davis has the ball skills and aggressiveness to become a major factor downfield as well as in the red zone. Consider him a WR4 right now, with a potential breakout coming next season. Also, now is your chance to buy on Taywan Taylor in dynasty leagues at a reasonable price. With Davis back, Taylor is relegated to be the Titans’ fourth receiver. He is an explosive dual-threat player who simply needs an opportunity to shine, which figures to come in 2018.
Groovy Babe by Durand Jones and The Indications
Marvin Jones Jr. is starting to heat up again. He has at least six catches in four straight back-to-back 100-yard efforts, and three TDs in his last three games. He still has to prove that he can sustain production over the course of the entire season, but this is a positive turn for Jones and his Fantasy owners. Jones disappointed last year after a blazing start and dropped like a stone in drafts this summer because of it. The talent has never been a question, but he has not been able to take that next step and find consistency. He will have to deal with Golden Tate and Kenny Golladay for looks, but the way Matthew Stafford is slinging it there should be plenty to go around.
