Carson Wentzis hotter than a good old Geno’s vs. Pat’s argument in the streets of Philadelphia right now. He is leading the NFL in TD passes, with a very healthy 17:4 TD to INT ratio. That is more TD passes than he had all last season. If you drafted him as your backup, congratulations because Wentz is now locked in as your starting QB. Wentz has the artillery and poise to continue his terrific start. Many will be tempted to sell high, but he’s legitimate. His dynasty stock is approaching Top 5 territory.
Zach Ertz has been an integral part of Wentz’s success, as he’s finally showing his full potential. He may finish the year as the top overall TE and his dynasty stock is soaring to new heights as well. Deep dynasty leaguers need to keep an eye on speedy rookie Mack Hollins. He made a big splash play last week and should continue to mix into the offense as the fourth receiver. With Torrey Smith and Alshon Jefferyon short-term deals, additional responsibilities could be heading his way in 2018.
On and On by Erykah Badu
I feel kind of like the Buffalo Bills organization does about Tyrod Taylor. He’s solid, but I’m not sure he’s a franchise player. In today’s NFL, his style of play just doesn’t seem to work consistently. For Fantasy, the rushing potential is an added bonus and makes him a weekly consideration. He’s more of a borderline QB1 than a locked in starter, however. I would feel great with him as my second QB in a two-QB format for this season, but not beyond. It is clear the Bills will be looking to upgrade the position with either Nathan Peterman or another, earlier draft pick this April. His dynasty stock is very questionable right now.
Nick O’Leary is an interesting name both for dynasty and streamers alike. The move TE has been pressed into action with Charles Clay sidelined and he’s been the Bills’ most consistent pass catcher. He’s definitely a TE to consider starting this weekend if you are in a bind thanks to injuries and bye weeks. He’s a dynasty stash now and extreme deep leagues will also want to take a look at converted QB Logan Thomas, who scored last week.
Proceed by The Roots
After a couple of explosive weeks by rookie Tarik Cohen, Jordan Howard owners were panicking. Since Week 3, he’s had no less than 19 touches in any game, including a workhorse-like 37 touches in Week 6. Howard is a back-end RB1, but Cohen is definitely eating into his passing game action this season. Since Mitchell Trubiski took over, though, RB receptions have been just about nonexistent. If he does start checking down to a back, expect it to be Cohen, who is much more equipped for such work. In dynasty formats, the time is now to shop Howard with Cohen not a threat to his job like he was in September.
Better Days Ahead by Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson
Joe Mixonhas the potential to be a Fantasy beast, but it is becoming increasingly unlikely to happen this season. The Bengals offensive line is terrible and Mixon is inconsistently relied upon. He’s still on the RB2 radar thanks to his lead back status, but he’s a weekly wildcard. I’m trying to acquire Mixon in dynasty formats wherever I can. He is clearly the most talented runner in the backfield and his acquisition could pay off in spades in 2018.
Slow Ride by Sublime
Pierre Garcon landed in San Francisco and the thought was that he would be a target hog WR2/3 option. He’s been just that so far, though not terribly impressive yardage wise and he’s yet to find the end zone. Garcon has 63 targets through seven games, including four games with double-digits. There is no reason to think that won’t continue regardless of who is under center. If you are in a PPR league keep rolling with him but look to ship him out in standard formats. His upside is limited thanks to the 49ers’ QB situation.
Did You Forget by Demi Lovato
With Golden Tateinjured and possibly out for this week, Kenny Golladayis back on the Fantasy map if he can rebound from his own injury (DNP on Friday, be sure to monitor the situation). You probably recall Golladay had a coming out party in his first game, scoring two TDs. He hurt his hammy in Week 3 and hasn’t played since, putting his hot start on ice. He’s due back this week against the Steelers and if healthy, should start opposite Marvin Jones. Hamstring injuries are always dicey, and the Steelers’ secondary is solid, so it is not a week to plug him right back into your lineup. I do like Golladay as a speculative add, though, in case Tate misses multiple weeks. His dynasty value is only going to rise from here as well.
