Justin Thomas ($10,800) There may be better course fits for Justin Thomas, but I just can’t resist rostering him when DraftKings has three other DFS Golf players priced higher. The value is too good to pass up. Thomas may be ranked number two in the world right now, but make no mistake, he is the best player on the planet. Had he finished T12 or better last week, he would’ve surpassed Dustin Johnson for number one in the world. He didn’t accomplish that, finishing T21 for his 11th Top 25 finish in 12 starts this year. According to Dailyroto’s win probability tool, Thomas is the second most likely to win this week at 4.99% odds. Only DJ has better odds (5.66%). I suspect with the lights much brighter this week, Thomas will come out with a purpose, play some great golf, and replace Dustin Johnson as the number one ranked golfer in the world for the first time in 14 months.

Henrik Stenson ($8,800) The 42-year-old Swede is still playing at an elite level with three straight Top 6 finishes that include his fifth-place finish at the Masters.  Stenson is arguably the best striker of a golf ball in the world. The stats certainly suggest that, and if you’ve watched him over the past few years, the eye test suggests it too. He ranks first in strokes gained: approach (1.305 shots per round), and first in good drive % (92.00). Stenson is a former Players Champion (2009), and has a solid recent track record at TPC, making five of his last six cuts, and finishing inside the Top 20 four of those times.

Phil Mickelson ($8,400) Another former Players Champion from another decade (2007), Phil Mickelson’s price is way down this year because he missed four straight cuts at the site between 2013-16, before finishing T41 last year. None of that worries me. Phil is in the middle of a renaissance season with one win, five Top 5s and six Top 10s in just 11 events this year. He did not hve a great showing at the Masters, but his one win this year was in a field with major strength at the WGC-Mexico Championship. At $8,400, DailyRoto’s win probability tool has Mickelson’s chances at 2.47%. That’s more likely than higher-priced players such as Justin Rose, Sergio Garcia, and Patrick Reed.

Francesco Molinari ($8,100) Fans who’ve done their research will be all over Francesco Molinari, who simply loves playing TPC Sawgrass. In his last three trips to Ponte Vedra Beach, Molinari has finished T7, T6, T7. He’s coming into the week off a very respectable T16 at the Wells Fargo. He’ll tee it up this week as the only player in the field with a chance to make a fourth straight Top 10 at THE PLAYERS.

Kevin Na (7,200) My final two picks are a couple of fliers, so feel free to go another direction. However, if you need some salary cap space, Kevin Na deserves a look. His game fits the course well as evidenced by his T6 finish in 2015, and T7 finish in 2012 where he began Sunday in the final group with Matt Kuchar. Na is a short-game maestro ranking second on Tour in strokes gained: around-the-green. If he can gain strokes on the field on his approaches this week, he’ll be three steps ahead of the field.

Rory Sabbatini ($6,700) I may be the only golf expert endorsing Rory Sabbatini this week, but if you look at his results this year, he’s actually playing better than a lot of players in the 7K range. After missing three of his first four cuts this season, Sabbatini has made 11 cuts in a row, that include a Top 5 finish and four Top 25 finishes in total. The last time Sabbatini teed it up at TPC Sawgrass? 2015, where he finished in sixth place. He’s a solid pick for GPPs, where he’ll have a very low ownership.
