Saturday night, Ryan Miller got his first start since missing a month with a concussion from a hit by Boston’s Milan Lucic. If you don’t remember it, Lucic leveled Miller while he was out of the net. Buffalo fans and players demanded a suspension, but none came. Against the Nashville Predators a couple of days ago, Miller had another collision, but this time the results were very different.

Miller had a great first game back, racking up 32 saves in the win for a save percentage of .941. Down 2-0 in the second period, Nashville’s Jordin Tootoo, on his way to the goal, made the decision to test Miller’s toughness. He flew into Miller at full speed, with what appeared to be a jump at the end, resulting in a massive scrum. What was Miller’s reaction? He held down Tootoo and proceeded to wail away on his head. Miller’s teammates got in on the action, and stopped play for several minutes. It was good to see Miller and his teammates handle the collision the way the first one should have been handled. Miller passed the test with flying colors, and I’ll be surprised if he gets tested again in the near future.

Tonight there are five games. Not a great night for picks, except for one, which you can check out if you’re a member. Sign in now if you already have a membership, if not make sure to get an ALL-ACCESS membership ASAP.
