What are AccuScore Game Previews and How Are They Generated?

AccuScore Game Forecasts are detailed, cutting-edge previews of upcoming games. AccuScore has simulated each game 10,000 times and reports the average score for each team, the number of times each team won (out of 10,000) overall, by large margin and by a small margin. Game Forecasts include player forecasts which shows how primary offensive players from both teams performed in key game deciding stat categories. All information and data on accuscore.com is forecasted information and most information is reported in terms of a probability. Just like the local weatherman will tell you the chance of raining, AccuScore Game Forecasts will tell you the chance of winning, the chance of rushing for 80 yards, the chance for passing for 2 Touchdowns, etc.

The forecasts are generated by the unbiased, unemotional, powerhouse AccuScore simulator that carefully models how players and coaches have individually responded to similar conditions (environment and opponent characteristics). A AccuScore Analyst will summarize the findings and provide further insight into the AccuScore Forecast. AccuScore Analysts are like Stock Analysts who provide technical explanation for the numbers you see in the Forecast.

What are Season and Team Playoff Forecasts?

By playing every game 10,000 times, AccuScore generates the season ending results after each simulation. After hours of simulations the results of 10,000 full seasons are generated. AccuScore translates this massive amount of data into the key odds relevant to you --- % chance of winning the Division (NFL, NBA, and MLB), % chance of qualifying as Wild Card (NFL), % chance of making the Playoffs.

In addition, AccuScore generates the % chance that each team has of winning Zero to 16 Games (for NFL). Season and Team Playoff Forecasts will be updated every two weeks based on each team’s current record and forecasted future win totals.

What is The AccuScore Point Spread Analyzer? How Can It Help Me?

AccuScore is not a gambling service or handicapper. AccuScore has a patent pending; proven simulation technology that allows it to objectively and accurately play upcoming games thousands of times. The AccuScore Point Spread Analyzer gives you full access to all simulated results. You can evaluate a range of point spreads for every game and see what the objective, unbiased computer “thinks” of the odds.

The point spread is reported in terms of each team’s margin of victory. A favored team (ex. -7 ½) would appear in the Point Spread Analyzer as a 50% probability of winning by over 7 points per game. The underdog would appear as 50% probability of losing by 7 or less (which includes wins by the underdog).
Because scoring in football tends to occur in standard increments (3, 7 primarily) you end up with certain margins (ex. 7 pts) being much more likely than other margins (ex. 6 or 8 pts). AccuScore allows you to enter any value and see how the odds of exceeding that number change with each user-defined change. Sometimes the odds of 6 ½ can be 5% points different than the odds of 5 ½ -- something to be aware of.

What is The AccuScore Over/Under Analyzer

Like the AccuScore Point Spread Analyzer, the AccuScore Over/Under Analyzer provides the same interactive ability to test the over/under of every game and see the odds that the teams will combine for more than that number of points. This is based on adding up the number of times out of 10,000 simulated games that the total points exceeded your user-defined number.
The default for the Over/Under and Point Spread Tools is the median value. This value is the middle (50th percentile) of the 10,000 simulations.

You will notice that the combined average point totals often exceed the median value. This is because teams never score less than zero points, but in rare cases they will explode for 40 or even 50 + points. These high scores that rarely occur ultimately skew most points scored averages higher than the actual middle value.

How Can I Use the AccuScore Pro Player Analyzer?

If a Stock Analyst puts a strong buy rating on a stock it’s very similar to a handicapper saying to take the Home Team to win. The Stock Analyst will not stop with just making the rating; they will proceed to justify their analysis by discussing “pieces” of the company and other reasons for liking the stock. Things like 1) new proven CEO, 2) Reduction in operating costs 3) Expansion to new market leading to more revenue, etc.

AccuScore Pro Player Analyzer gives you the power to breakdown a Game Pick in precise detail. Everyone has their own “keys to the game”. For example, say you think that running the ball for over 100 yards and not fumbling more than once is a key to making a team a “good pick,” the you use this tool to see if the running backs have a good chance of rushing for 100+ yards and not fumbling more than once.

What if a team is heavily favored and part of the reason why is the starting QB has a high probability of throwing for 300+ yard and 2 or more touchdowns. Perhaps your hunch and insight tell you that the opposing Defensive Coordinator has a new scheme that will confuse this QB. Maybe you think this team is due for an upset because their key to success (great QB play) is not a solid foundation --- in your opinion. How Can I Use AccuScore as My Own Personal Odds Maker?

Not everyone likes to or has the ability to drive to Vegas every Sunday. For those of you who like to have more fun with the game try using AccuScore’s Point Spread Analyzer, Over/Under Analyzer and Player Analyzer to come up with your own creative, entertaining, and generally harmless wagers.

If you see a player has a 10% chance of rushing for 120 or more yards maybe you get a free steak dinner from your friend if he runs for over 120 yards. If he doesn’t, you buy your friend a drink. Find an interesting 25% chance bet (4 to 1); talk your roommate into betting 4 weeks worth of laundry duties in exchange for 1 week.
Sports are fun and high tech sports analysis can be fun as well. It’s not all about the Vegas Odds.

Information for Fantasy Sports Players

How are Player Rankings Calculated? Are These Based on Forecasts? Are They Accurate?

AccuScore Rankings allow you to view forecasted rankings based on the average performance of each player after 10,000 simulations. You can select ALL WEEKS to compare the season forecasted averages as well as see one week or game at a time. In addition to List View AccuScore provides a Graph View that allows you to see the gaps between players to find the meaningful differences in rank and not just numerical differences.

The forecasts are accurate, but keep in mind that these forecasts are based on simulation averages. For every average performance there is a high probability of an above average or below average performance. When a player performs at a significantly different level than his simulated average it does not make the average wrong, it means he performed at a relatively lower probability.
AccuScore 2004 back testing showed forecasted averages to be 67% closer to the actual result when compared to the players’ current average heading into that game. Only 10% of forecasts were bad: in other words cases where a player played much better than average and AccuScore forecasted a worse than average performance (and vice versa).

What Can I Learn from AccuScore Team Rankings?

Like AccuScore’s Player Rankings, the Team Rankings allow you to view the forecasted averages of each team – points scored, points allowed, and margin of victory. You can view all 32 teams in a table/list view or graphically display up to 25 teams to identify the meaningful differences between team ranks.
Teams have tough parts of the schedule and easier stretches, so if your team starts out a little slow, then you can use AccuScore’s forecasted team rankings to see if brighter days are ahead.

What's the Difference between Fantasy Chemistry vs. Fantasy Comparison?

This interactive tool allows you to enter one or more players and see how they perform in terms of combined forecasted fantasy points (chemistry).
AccuScore will show you what players have good and bad “fantasy chemistry.” Are there weeks where your star players both are on a bye week? Are there many weeks where players are expected to play way above or way below their season’s average?

We use the term Fantasy Chemistry because the key to winning your Fantasy Football League is not only getting players who put up the best season totals, it’s making sure you have players who will play well together in key fantasy match-ups and avoiding combinations of players who do not play well. Ever had a team led by a great QB and RB, rack up an 11 and 2 regular fantasy season only to see your key players both have poor games in the first round of the Fantasy Playoffs? These players had great fantasy chemistry in the regular season but not in the playoffs.
By selecting COMPARISON MODE in the AccuScore Key Player Analysis Tool, you can see how two players are set to perform week-by-week individually so you can compare their expected performance. You can view their overall averages, identify what weeks they are down or up and ultimately help identify good draft picks, make good trades, and maximize your weekly lineup.

What is the Fantasy Points Analyzer?

While AccuScore Rankings and Key Player Analyzer help you forecast based on each player’s simulation average, the full power of AccuScore is delivered when you look at the fantasy odds. You may have a player with a relatively low forecasted average but his probability of having a huge game could be 10 to 20%. If you are overmatched next week, maybe you’d be better off picking a player who at least gives you an outside chance of a huge game.

Or, maybe you are an overwhelming favorite and want to make sure your starting Wide Receivers do not have dismal performances. Use the Fantasy Points Analyzer to see the Odds of a poor performance.

You pick the player and you enter the number of fantasy points you want from him. The Fantasy Points Analyzer will tell you what the odds are of that player exceeding that number of fantasy points. You can also see all 10,000 results plotted in a histogram and visually understand where your “fantasy line” fits.
