Yesterday the NFL ruled the day (at least my day), but I’m back to the NHL tonight. There are only three games, but there are a couple of picks that I like. I’ve got two money line picks for the Detroit Red Wings at Phoenix Coyotes and Calgary Flames at Anaheim Ducks games. Before I get into the picks I want to address the big injury update of All-Star goalie Jimmy Howard. Detroit’s Howard broke his finger in last Thursday’s 4-3 shootout win over the Vancouver Canucks. His doctor initially said that he would be out four to six weeks, but this morning that was shortened to two weeks. The injury is going to hurt Detroit as Howard leads the NHL with 32 wins and gives up just 2.03 goals per game. Goalie Ty Conklin will take over the number one spot, with recent call-up Joey MacDonald backing him up.
With that out of the way, sign in now to check out my picks as they are available only to members. If you’re not a member you’re missing out, so sign up for an all-access membership ASAP.
