Before I get to my picks for tonight I want to talk about the teams that played in the two nationally televised games from last night. First, let’s look at the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. These two teams need to make some moves. Yes they play good defense, but watching their offensively challenged players try to put the ball in the hoop is painful. I expected more from them, and they seriously disappointed. In four quarters and overtime they both failed to score 90 points, and shot under 40 percent from the field. On top of that the Lakers shot one for 15 on three pointers. How NBA players can be so awful from the perimeter is beyond me. Second, I have a mini-rant about the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder’s most athletic and exciting player is its Achilles heel. Russell Westbrook is a turnover machine. The guy averages 4.3 turnovers per game (he turned it over seven times last night) and is the main reason why the Thunder lead the league in turnovers. Westbrook is a two guard playing out of position and is the main reason why a mediocre team like the Kings can shoot 40 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three point line and still beat the Thunder. OKC is a contender for the title, but I don’t like their chances in the playoffs against legit teams that will make them pay for their mistakes.

There are a bunch of games tonight, including two nationally televised games (Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz). I’ve made two picks for those games and added one more for the Los Angeles Clippers at Philadelphia 76ers.
