| Mid-Week Extra: Kansas State at Louisville |

|
Week Four in college football starts early with two programs fallen on hard times. Josh Freeman and Kansas State travel to the Bluegrass State to take on Hunter Cantwell and the Louisville Cardinals. In a testament to how quickly and how far the ‘Ville has fallen, the Cardinals are underdogs to the Wildcats despite being the home team. Kansas State is winning nearly three-quarters of the time in simulations by nine points on average. Over 50 percent of the time it is winning by double-digits. Louisville just hasn’t looked right following the departure of Bobby Petrino. The offense was fine last season, but that was with Brian Brohm and several big-time receivers. The atrocious was what accounted for the precipitous drop from the elite. Now both sides of the ball could be equally poor. Kentucky shut the offense down completely in the opener with just a safety accounting for the Cardinals’ only points. Louisville then went out and scored 51 in week two, but that was against Tennessee Tech. It’s difficult to gauge if that is the result of progress or just the product of an inferior opponent. Wednesday’s game should give us a better gauge on the real identity of this team. Kansas State is led by quarterback Josh Freeman. A dual-threat under center, he is projected for 230 yards passing and over 20 yards rushing. The big thing here is that Freeman has thrown five touchdowns without an interception this season while his counterpart, Hunter Cantwell, has a negative touchdown to interception ratio (2:3). Turnovers will be a key statistic in this game. The Wildcats have a large edge in turnover margin in simulations. Neither team has a great running game either making the quarterbacks (and interceptions) even more important. Trackback(0)

| Freeman hadn't thrown an interception in his three prior games, and then just one in his five prior games. Safe to say those two picks in the first half gave Louisville huge momentum, and the Cardinals rode it to victory. The Louisville offense also played up to their potential, particularly the running game, and put points up on the board |
| That's the way I saw the game going also. I was very dissappointed in the outcome. That was a very different Louisville team from what I saw against Kentucky on Labor Day weekend. Is KST defense that bad, or did Louisville make the right adjustments from week 1? |
