Selection Sunday is just about a month away, and several bubble teams will be in action. Here’s a quick look at the most important games in college basketball in the next two days that will have big implications when the tournament committee gathers and starts handing out dance cards. 9:00 ET: (24) Pittsburgh @ (25) Marquette - SEE GAME FORECASTBoth of these teams are likely safely in the tournament field already, but a win in this game would be greatly beneficial for seeding purposes. Guard Levance Fields will probably make his earlier than expected return to the lineup in this game for Pitt after breaking his foot way back in December. Fields will still be playing with pain, but his mere presence should provide a boost to his team. It is unclear how much he’ll be able to play in the early going however, and Marquette provides a difficult match-up for a player making a return from injury. The Golden Eagles still feature great guard play as the trio of Dominic James, Jerel McNeal, and Wesley Matthews are finally upperclassmen. It is actually forward Lazar Hayward though that leads the team in scoring, and he will be going up against Pitt’s super-frosh DeJuan Blair in the post. Trackback(0)
