Keith Puckett - AccuScore Analyst

Welcome to High Five/Low Five, a weekly fantasy basketball column that looks at both premium and bargain player acquisitions. The High Five are the premiere players in the league who are at the top of their game. Although they are harder to obtain, I will give you insight on whose star is shining the brightest each week. The Low Five is where the value is. These are your waiver wire signings, your free agent pick ups and the key to beating your opponent on a weekly basis. Whether its leading gate to wire or hitting the long shot, High Five/Low Five is about providing you information that results in championships.

High 5

PG - Chris Paul (NO)
Paul has been nothing short of amazing. He is showing why he was drafted in the 1st round of many leagues this year. He has recorded thirteen double-doubles and is averaging 9.8 assists to go along with 21 points. He also ranks number one in the league with 2.8 swipes per game. He has been the best point guard in fantasy basketball this year and is only getting better.

SG - Allen Iverson (DEN)
Every year I hear that Iverson is going to start slowing down and every year Iverson shows us why he is one of fantasy basketball’s favorite guards. While playing with Carmello Anthony has reduced his points per game, AI is still averaging 25.9 points a game to go along with 7.5 assists and 2.4 steals. The amazing stat is that he is shooting 46.6 percent from the field. If you need a shooting guard that will play night in night out, Allen Iverson is the "Answer".

SF - Caron Butler (WAS)
When Gilbert Arenas went down with a knee injury, Caron Butler carried fantasy owners with 22.4 points, 7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals a game average. By shooting 49 percent from the floor and 88.2 percent from the stripe, Butler is only behind Lebron as the best small forward in fantasy basketball.

PF - Carols Boozer (UTA)
MVP, MVP, MVP is what Utah is chanting and it's not even Christmas. While Boozer and Deron Williams are not Stockton and Malone, their future is bright. Boozer is having a great year and averaging 25 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals a game. The 57 percent field goal percentage of shows just how easy the game comes to him. He dominates below the rim and is a modern day Kevin McHale. His footwork is text book and his jumper is smooth out to 20 feet. The pick and roll is alive and kicking in Utah.

C - Amare Stoudemire (PHX)
He is back. Although his point production and highlight reel dunks are on the decline, Stoudemire 2.0 can still fill it up to the tune of 20 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks a game. His 58 percent field goal percentage balances out the best of long range gunners on your squad. During the injuries Amare worked on his shooting and you can tell. He is now 78 percent from the stripe and can shoot the three when the defense is not looking. Although I think his jumper is reliable out to 20 feet, it's nice to see Amare back.

Low 5

PG - Jose Calderon (TOR)
TJ Ford is out and it might only be a matter of time before Ford shuts it down for good. Enter Jose Calderon who has morphed into one of the best fantasy guards in the league. Calderon has 39 assists in his last four games with only seven turnovers. He shoots great from the field and the stripe. Even when Ford comes back, I do not expect his production to slide. The writing is on the wall and it's Jose's turn to shine.

SG - Deshawn Stevenson (WAS)
Players benefiting from another teammate's injury is the theme in this Low Five. Stevenson stepped up last year when Antoine Jamison went down and this year with injuries to Gilbert Arenas and Antonio Daniels, he is the last guard standing. Stevenson is a poor man’s Brandon Roy, but can be plugged in for points, rebounds and assists on a nightly basis. He is a decent guard and will bring tremendous value over the next month.

SF - Jamario Moon (TOR)
Much has been made of the 27 year old who has played for more teams in the last three years than Larry Brown has coached his entire career. He is a defensive dynamo that averages 1.7 blocks, 8 points and 7 rebounds a game. His role will diminish when Bargnani comes back from injury, but for now you should plug him in your line up and enjoy.

PF - Andrea Bargnani (TOR)
His stats this year were a slight improvement from last year before he was slowed down with injuries. I expect Barngani back in starting line up around the All-Star break and his banged up knees will benefit from the time off. Barngani is a great shooter who helps out with blocks and rebounds. Becoming a great big man takes time, and although Andrea will never be as good as Dirk, he is worth the investment you will make in him.

C - Brendan Haywood (WAS)
Brendan Haywood has been a great source of points, rebounds and blocks all year. He has no one to take his minutes now that Etan Thomas is out for the year. Haywood’s 10 points, 8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks a game make him a great #2 or 3 center and should cost you very little in a trade.

Good luck, and see you next week.

I am offering Baron Davis for Luol Deng in my keeper league. I have my team structured so I am willing to lose in assists every week so keeping BD's 8apg seems to be like a waste of his talents for my team. Don't get me wrong, I love his points, 3's and steals but it seems I would better my team with Deng's youth and rebounding. Please give me your thoughts in this deal and who is getting the better of it.

Also, you must dominate in fantasy basketball. What place are you in some of your leagues?
